Curry-lover Alphonso Davies is the youngest ever player to make his first Bundesliga appearance
German club Bayern Munich forward Alphonso Davies has joined with North Vancouver-based Starlight Films to launch the NFT Series – a digital film series with educational, social and fun aspects.
Davies, 16, became the first player to make his debut for Bayern aged just 15 in August.
“I am proud to launch this unique initiative with Starlight,” Davies said.
“I am eager to work with them to share meaningful messages of kindness, education and character.”
Following the release of the NFT film “Migration is a Lost Art” earlier this year, the NFT Series focuses on empowering children and teenagers to tackle social issues, including bullying and obesity.
The deal also involves the establishment of NFT Centre, a donation-based coding school based in Vancouver’s Yaletown neighbourhood, which offers the hands-on training and mentorship to students aged nine to 19 who may have never learnt code before.
Davies also made the cover of Maclean’s and the NFT Film Movement’s short documentary in April.
“We are very excited about our partnership with Alphonso Davies. It is a testament to the transformative power of a film and is what inspires our NFT Ambassador programme,” Starlight Films founder Chris Godfrey said.
“As a company, we are passionate about using film to build bridges and connect with people, and we’ve never known a more engaging and encouraging young person than Alphonso Davies.”
