What is Starz doing to save the day?

Written by Editorial Director by Agata Blaszczak-Boxe

Starz has been on a roll with its series, “Black Sails.” Season two will premiere this summer, but the network is busy working on its third and fourth seasons, which may be set in England or Paris, according to an interview with its CEO Chris Albrecht.

For the April Fool’s Day, the network is bringing back another cult-favorite, “Party Down,” to screen for fans. Starz is releasing a trailer and two clips (below) on Saturday, so be sure to come back to CNET to see what all the fuss is about. It might just save a night or two: Starz is saying that if “Party Down” is allowed to run for three seasons on television, the show will have spanned seven years by the time it ends. How long do you think it will take you to get to Series 7 if all goes according to plan? Be sure to let us know your “Party Down” fix in the comments below.

While it’s only Friday, this week, fans of “Ghosted” (formerly titled “Ghosthunters”) will be glad to know that the show will be returning soon. According to Stu Raymer, Vice President of Marketing for the Starz and Encore Networks, the funny show is currently in production in Los Angeles, and they’re hoping to release a trailer soon.

Although the details haven’t been ironed out yet, Raymer said that the show will be quite different than other paranormal comedy shows on television. “I think that what will stand out about Ghosted, is that it’s not a horror show,” he said. “The show is not based on the supernatural but deals with personal and institutional demons.”

For the second season, Raymer said that they’re “back to work” and fully committed to seeing how the show will perform.
